Whatever brings you to seek help, talking therapy offers you a holistic and gentle way to gain insights and grow authentically. You may be looking for a counsellor/psychotherapist because of a particular event or experience that has disturbed or unsettled you, recently or in the past. You may just feel that it is time that you gave yourself the chance to try for a more satisfying and fulfilled life. Or perhaps simply you need to talk through your concerns confidentially with someone who isn’t a friend or family member.
I will offer you a confidential space to safely explore your difficulty, without judgement or agenda. What I can also offer is my experience of mindfulness and self-compassion practices, so we can consider together whether this might also support you. These are meditations and exercises to help us relate in a different way to the mind-body and to develop a much kinder and more compassionate response to what we discover. This greater intimacy with what’s actually happening in the here and now then opens up new possibilities for responding rather than reacting automatically or habitually, both to ourselves and to others. Discovering this freedom to be more fully who we are is the treasure of mindfulness-based counselling – a path to wholeness.
