Once a month, an evening of meditation together

On the first Wednesday of each month I host an online meditation evening from 7pm to 8.30pm, open to everyone. It is a gentle way to pause midweek and refresh your practice from the comfort of home.

Every first Wednesday of the month, from seven until half past eight in the evening, I hold an online meditation session and I’d love you to join me. It’s a chance to pause and open, with others who are doing the same thing, and to explore pathways to loving presence just for a while.  We can be an island of wisdom and love in the busy currents of our lives.

A rhythm that holds you

There’s something quietly sustaining about practice the same evening each month. You begin to know it’s coming, to look forward to it a little, and that anticipation is itself a kind of practice. A monthly rhythm offers the sense of a thread running through the year, a place to return to.

Each evening is open to anyone who wants to refresh or deepen their mindfulness and compassion practice, whether you’ve been meditating for years or you’re still finding your feet. We meditate together, I offer two guided meditations drawing on mindfulness and self-compassion teachings, a little bit of gentle movement and there’s space for reflection and collective sharing. This fosters community and provides insight and valuable support for your own practice.

What online can actually offer

If you’ve never tried meditating with a group online, I think you might be surprised. I often hear from participants that they get much more from online than they expect. There’s a warmth to gathering in this way, and something about being in your own home, your own familiar chair, that helps rather than hinders.

There’s a freedom there. You don’t have to travel, you don’t have to find a car park, you don’t have to be ‘on’ in the way that going somewhere can sometimes require. You can arrive in your home comfy clothes. It’s actually quite a generous, supportive environment, and we tend to settle quickly into something that feels open and relaxed.

You can let the practice meet you where you are. That permission to arrive as you are, without performance or effort, is part of what makes these evenings feel worth coming back to.

Keeping your practice alive between sessions

One evening a month may be enough to rekindle something. A guided meditation with others offers a quality of attention that’s hard to replicate alone, and it often loosens something that has quietly stiffened in the weeks between. Many people find that one evening resets their practice for the weeks that follow, encouraged by the recordings that I’ll share with you after to re-visit.

If you find yourself wanting more, my membership community is there as a supportive, inspiring ongoing place to practise and connect. Together with my friends Alex Irving and Rosalie Dores we invite you to explore a more sustained engagement with mindfulness and self-compassion, and the two sit well together.

Come and sit with us

I think of these evenings as saving someone a seat. Many of you will have know me from courses or retreats, but you don’t have to be at any particular stage of your practice. If you’ve been curious about online meditation sessions or simply want somewhere warm and considered to practise with others, this is a good place to start.

Bookings are made one session at a time, so there is no commitment. However, I hope we can establish a regular attendance, allowing us to benefit from the mutual encouragement this brings to living mindfully and heartfully. The cost is £12.50 per session—but please don’t let this get in the way of coming. If cost is an issue, please contact me. You will receive the Zoom link details when you book, and booking will stay open until 15 minutes before the start time.

The next session is the first Wednesday in September, at 7pm UK time, wherever you happen to be. If you’d like to ask me anything first, I’m very happy to have a conversation. You can book a free discovery call to discuss what support you need before you commit to anything at all.
